Social project
Campeões do Futuro
Projeto Campeões do Futuro (“Future Champions”) is the social project Mestre Paulo Ribeiro created to bring Taekwondo, free of charge, to children and teenagers in Balneário Camboriú.
What the project is
In the Master’s words, Campeões do Futuro offers free sport to children and teenagers outside school hours, with a focus on their overall development and on building citizenship.
In 2020 he recalled that he had created the project “20 years ago” and highlighted one of its missions: teaching self-defense to girls and women.

Where the project has been
In 2019, the Master shared classes of the project at João Goulart school and at the São Judas neighborhood group in Balneário Camboriú, where instructor Bianca Kaproski led the class.
His work with free Taekwondo goes back further: in 2014, the Municipal Sports Foundation (FMEBC) ran a free Taekwondo school at the Martial Arts Center in the Nações neighborhood, and the Master coached the city team.

Belts, exams and celebrations
Students progress through grading exams, just as in any academy. In July 2019, the project held a grading exam and a friendly tournament to celebrate Balneário Camboriú’s anniversary.
In April 2019, the Master shared a photo of the project’s coordination alongside Balneário Camboriú’s Secretary for Social Inclusion, with the message “now it’s happening.”

The exact founding year, the groups running in 2026, the number of students and the current schedule are being confirmed with the Master. This project is not related to “Campeões de Futuro”, a program of the Espírito Santo state government.
